Finding Balance Occupational Therapy and Play Therapy Senior Occupational Therapist and Early Childhood Teacher, Nina Fitch is offering a specialised group programme designed for Kindergarten-Pre-Primary children to develop foundational skills, and boost self-confidence to assist with the transition to Kindergarten and Pre- Primary

 

Groups will be maximum of four children with an Occupational Therapist ( Nina Fitch ) and an Occupational Therapy Assistant running the groups.

 

Prepare your child for school- give them a head start and build on their existing skills  with our “Skills for School”  School  Readiness Weekly Group programme

Block 1  January 7- 11

Block 2 January 14-18

Block 3 January 21-25

Block 4 January 28-February 1

Kindergarten Readiness Programme:

Monday 9:30 AM-11 AM

Wednesday 9:30 AM-11 AM

Friday 9:30 AM-11 AM

Cost: $180 for week. $50 Deposit required

Who would benefit from the Kindergarten Readiness programme?

  • Your child is entering Kindergarten for the first time and you have concerns about their readiness for school.
  • Your child has completed Kindergarten however feedback highlights some skill development difficultieswould benefit from repetition and consolidation of foundation skills.
  • Your child already receives support for difficulties and you would like further consolidation in a group environment.

NOTE: All three sessions need to be completed to consolidate learning and to provide consistency. Children can be enrolled in more than one block if desired.

Kindergarten Foundational Skills targeted:

  • Name recognition
  • Following a routine
  • Attention and concentration
  • Speaking and listening including show and tell
  • Fine motor skills and hand strength
  • Age appropriate gross motor skills
  • Following instructions and understanding rules and expectations
  • Being part of a group
  • Organisation skills of self and belongings
  • Pre-literacy and numeracy concepts
  • Pre-writing skills
  • Drawing tracing and cutting
  • Sharing and taking turns
  • Social skills
  • Manage transitions from one activity to another
  • Practice skills in making friends

 Pre-Primary Readiness programme

Tuesday   9:30 AM-11.30 AM

 Thursday 9:30 AM-11.30 AM

    Friday     9:30 AM-11.30 AM

Cost $210 for week. $60 deposit required

Who would benefit from the Pre-Primary Readiness programme?

  • Your child is entering Pre-Primary and you have concerns about their readiness for Year one.
  • Your child has completed Kindergarten however school feedback highlights some skill development difficulties that would benefit from repetition and consolidation of foundation skills to assist transition to Year One.
  • Your child already receives support for difficulties and you would like further consolidation in a group environment.

Additional information

Bookings are essential as spaces are limited. Each group will have a maximum of four children. Programme will only run given sufficient numbers. Please email  hello@findingbalancetherapy.com.au to request a booking form. This form will be emailed to you for you to compete and return, A deposit is required to secure your place. These details will be on the booking form.

Meet and Greet Nina Fitch.  Nina understands that it can be difficult  for some parents to enrol their child into a group without having met the therapist. Understanding this, Nina will arrange a 15 minute free of charge meet and greet where you will have an opportunity to briefly outline any concerns that you may have regarding your child. This can be arranged prior to enrolment or after booking is secure.  Times to meet with Nina can be arranged with her directly however may need to occur on a Saturday if a convenient time during the week is not available for both parties.
